SaSo Strategic Advisers enhances its regulatory permissions moving to a Full-service Financial Advisory, Dealing and Managing License.
9 March 2020
SaSo Strategic Advisers (SaSo) has been granted a full-service advisory, dealing and managing license – Investment Business ABC Class Registration from the Jersey Financial Services Commission (JFSC), building on the D Class Registration the company has been operating within for the past 3 years since inception.
To support the change in Registration, SaSo has hired Peter Smart as Head of Investments, to be responsible for a new dealing and managing investment function within SaSo.
Meeku Patidar, Founder and CEO, commented ‘We are really pleased and excited to have further developed the company and transformed ourselves into a full-service financial advisory-led proposition with investment management capability building on what we have created over the past 3 years. As we have grown our client base and assets under advice, strategically this change was a natural extension to include the investment dealing and managing capability all the while focused on our core financial advisory services. This makes real sense in an increasingly volatile environment, as we are experiencing now, but also provides for greater operational and administration efficiency, as well as clarity to clients of the responsibilities that SaSo would like to undertake for its’ clients.’
He adds, in regard to Peter Smart, ‘I have admired Peter’s work through the number of years we have known each other, and SaSo is very fortunate to have acquired his skills, knowledge and deep experience in the market. Once we had decided to apply for the ABC Registration with the JFSC, we were keen to support the application with a high-quality investment professional. I knew that Peter would be the ideal person to head this new function, with his knowledge and experience but also him fitting into the SaSo family and culture.’
Peter Smart, Head of Investments, commented ‘I have known Meeku for many years and despite the fact that we were always at separate Companies, we have successfully worked together in providing high quality and positive outcomes from introductions where we felt clients would benefit from each other’s particular area of expertise. It therefore made absolute sense to bring the dedicated Investment Service to the Company and I am proud to be joining SaSo at this time. Becoming part of a team that offers a truly integrated, full-service wealth management capability is an exciting proposition.”
